Dr. Moniruzzaman holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Essex Business School, University of Essex, United Kingdom, awarded under the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship. He completed both his MBA and BBA from the Department of Accounting & Information Systems, University of Dhaka, achieving First Class positions in both degrees and earning placement on the Dean’s Honors List for outstanding academic performance. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (qualified on his first attempt), an Associate Cost and Management Accountant (ACMA), and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), UK.
With over fifteen years of teaching experience, Dr. Moniruzzaman has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses as an Associate Professor at the University of Dhaka. He has also gained international teaching experience at the University of Essex, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at several leading private universities in Bangladesh. In addition, he has delivered professional training programs for renowned national institutions.
His research interests include Enterprise Risk Management, Audit and Assurance, Corporate Governance, Financial Regulation, and Corporate Taxation. He is a published author in several reputed academic journals and has presented his research at major international conferences. Alongside his academic career, he brings over fifteen years of professional experience in audit, advisory, taxation, and risk management. Furthermore, he currently serves in senior advisory and board-level roles, contributing to academic excellence, policy development, and strengthened industry–academia collaboration.
