UCBD is the first transnational education provider with full Ministry of Education approval in Bangladesh, and it delivers four genuinely elite routes under one roof: Monash (a Group of 8 university), University of London with LSE academic direction, University of Lancashire, and an NCC-accredited foundation year. A foundation year (MUFY or UIFY) is a pre-university bridge that leads into Year 1 of a degree. A diploma (MCD) is equivalent to Year 1 itself, so it fast-tracks the student into Year 2. Foundation = before the degree; diploma = the first year of it.
MUFY if they want maximum flexibility (widest subject choice, entry to any of Monash's 10 faculties) or aren't fully decided. MCD if they know their field and want to specialise from day one and save a year by entering Monash in Year 2.
For UCLan and the University of London routes, yes — the full Bachelor's can be completed on the UCBD campus. The Monash routes (MUFY/MCD) are designed so the student progresses to Monash University (Australia or Malaysia) to complete the degree.
The foundation routes are built for flexibility, and our counsellors review subject and progression choices with each student. Switching is far easier and cheaper to manage here than after they've already moved abroad.
The UCBD International Foundation Year (NCC Level 3) opens progression to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Ireland, with eight universities offering guaranteed access to NCC graduates and many more options beyond that.
MUFY, MCD and UIFY are one year each; the University of London and UCLan Bachelor's degrees are three years. Pathway students then complete remaining years at the partner university abroad.
