Dr. Ferdous Sarwar holds a PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA. He completed his MSc (Engg) and BSc (Engg) in Industrial and Production Engineering from BUET. In addition to his academic qualifications, he has undertaken extensive professional training in outcome-based education, quality assurance, curriculum development, and institutional quality assurance, further strengthening his pedagogical competence.
With over twenty years of teaching experience, Dr. Sarwar has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate levels as a Professor at BUET, He has also served as Adjunct Faculty at North South University, BRAC University and other renowned private universities around Bangladesh, teaching UG and MBA programmes using case-based and applied learning approaches.
His research interests include Operations Management, Supply Chain Optimization, Production Systems, Inventory Control, Manufacturing Systems, and Data-driven Decision-Making. He is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in internationally reputed peer-reviewed journals and has presented extensively at major international conferences. Alongside academia, Dr. Sarwar has held key administrative and advisory roles at BUET, contributing to strategic planning, financial governance, student welfare, and industry–academia collaboration, thereby bringing strong practical insight to the teaching of Operations Management.
