Dr Ranjan Kumar Mitra, FCMA, is a Professor in the Department of Accounting & Information Systems, University of Dhaka. He holds a PhD from Kobe University, Japan. He completed his MBA and BBA at the University of Dhaka, both with outstanding academic distinctions.
With over 17 years of teaching experience, Prof. Mitra has served as an educator at renowned institutions such as Stamford University Bangladesh, and the University of Dhaka.
His research interests lie in capital market studies, corporate governance, and financial reporting quality, with a particular focus on the impact of earnings quality on stock markets. With over 20 scholarly articles, books, and chapters, his work has been featured in reputed journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting, and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management. Prof. Mitra’s significant contributions have been recognized with fellowship at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). He has also held editorial positions and played a key role in academic projects funded by the World Bank and UGC Bangladesh.
