Orientation Day Program for Monash College MCD held at UCB
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the exclusive partner of Monash College, Australia in Bangladesh, recently hosted the Orientation Day Program for the Monash College MCD’s first intake of 2024. The Orientation Day Program was held at the UCB Campus, located in the capital’s SA Tower, Gulshan Avenue. The “Orientation Day Program” for the Monash College MCD’s first intakes of 2024 began with opening remarks by Prof. Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Prof. Hew Gill, President and Provost, at UCB. The event progressed with campus life showcase, and programmeme overview sessions by Sumaiya Binte Kabir, Senior Lecturer, and Coordinator-Business, UCB; and Dr. Sadia Afreen, Assistant Professor, and Coordinator – STEM, UCB. At the event speakers also discussed UCB’s Attendance Policies and Academic Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity & Cases, Introduction to Counselling, and more. The speeches were followed by a session on Numerical and Study Skills by Rajan Ahmed, Lecturer at UCB. Key details regarding studying Monash programmemes, important policies, and many more were also shared at the Orientation Day Program. These included information about essential academic tools, the creation and use of Monash and UCB accounts, and the navigation of courses on Moodle. UCB Quiz winners receive grand prize worth BDT 40 thousand
The country’s first ever online quiz for high school and college-level students, organised by Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), has announced its champion. Muhammad Hasin Raihan from Dhaka College has triumphed at the “UCB Quiz” held for grade 10 – 12 students from all over Bangladesh. Hasin and other winners were awarded certificates and received a combined prize worth BDT 40 thousand. UCB organised a grand award ceremony on February 17 at the UCB campus in Gulshan to recognise the students’ meritorious efforts. Prof. Hew Gill, President and Provost, UCB and Amit Prasad, Chief Operating Officer, UCB, handed over the prize and certificates to the winners. The first prize went to Muhammad Hasin Rahman from Dhaka College; the second prize went to Ahnaf Anis from Adamjee Cantonment College; the third prize went to Aribah Farzeen Shah from The Aga Khan School, Dhaka (AKSD); the fourth prize went to Zawad Islam from Playpen School, and the fifth prize went to Wazee Wahid Sazid from Adamjee Cantonment College. The contest which took place earlier this month received a great response with students registering from more than 80 schools across the country.
