চাকরির বাজারের চাহিদা ও প্রার্থীদের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষার মধ্যে আরও উন্নত সমন্বয় নিশ্চিতের লক্ষ্যে লংকাবাংলা ফাইন্যান্স পিএলসির (এলবিএফ) সঙ্গে সমঝোতা স্মারক (এমওইউ) সই করেছে এসটিএস গ্রুপের আওতাধীন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশ (ইউসিবি)। গতকাল রোববার লংকাবাংলা ফাইন্যান্সের করপোরেট হেড অফিসে এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে লংকাবাংলার হেড অব অপারেশনস এ কে এম কামরুজ্জামান, গ্রুপ কোম্পানি সেক্রেটারি মোস্তফা কামাল, হেড অব রিটেইল ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল সার্ভিসেস খুরশেদ আলম, চিফ ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল অফিসার শামীম আল মামুন এবং হেড অব হিউম্যান রিসোর্সেস মোহাম্মদ হাফিজ আল আহাদ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অপর দিকে ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশের চিফ অপারেটিং অফিসার অমিত প্রসাদ এবং এসটিএস ক্যাপিটাল লিমিটেডের চিফ ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল অফিসার এস এম রহমাতুল মুজিব ও অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট ম্যানেজার এস এম রিসালাত রহমান উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এসটিএস গ্রুপের সিইও মানাস সিং বলেন, ‘লংকাবাংলা ফাইন্যান্সের সঙ্গে হাত মেলাতে পেরে আমরা আনন্দিত। চাকরি–সংশ্লিষ্ট শিল্প খাতকে গভীরভাবে জানার ক্ষেত্রে শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে, পাশাপাশি করপোরেট জগতে তাদের পরিচিতিও বাড়াতে সাহায্য করবে।’ লংকাবাংলা ফাইন্যান্সের ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর ও সিইও খাজা শাহরিয়ার বলেন, ‘তরুণদের সক্ষমতার ওপর আমাদের শতভাগ আস্থা রয়েছে। এই অংশীদারত্বের মাধ্যমে আমরা তাদের বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা এবং জ্ঞানের আলোকে আরও প্রস্তুত করে তুলতে চাই, যা তাদের কর্মজীবনে উল্লেখযোগ্য অগ্রগতি অর্জনে সহায়তা করবে।’ উল্লেখ্য, ইউসিবি বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় অনুমোদিত প্রথম আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা প্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান। এটি দেশে মোনাশ কলেজ এবং ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লন্ডন (ইউওএল) পরিচালিত লন্ডন স্কুল অব ইকোনমিকসের (এলএসই) অংশীদার। Published in: Ittefaq
Universal College Bangladesh, LankaBangla Finance to bridge industry-academia gap
In a significant move to bridge the existing industry-academia gap, Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the STS Group entity providing world-class education in Bangladesh, on Sunday entered into a partnership with LankaBangla Finance PLC (LBF), a leading provider of integrated financial services. HSC grads can enrol at University of London through CHESS at UCB
Published – The Daily Star Date – September 14,2023 Bangladeshi students with Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or O levels will be able to gain direct entry into all the University of London degrees upon completion of Certificate of Higher Education in Social Sciences (CHESS) in Dhaka. HSC grads can enroll at University of London thru CHESS
Bangladeshi students with Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or O-Levels will be able to gain direct admission to the University of London upon completion of Certificate of Higher Education in Social Sciences (CHESS) in Dhaka. Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the STS Group entity providing global education, launched the CHESS programme at its Gulshan campus on Saturday. “As the first higher education institution in Bangladesh to be given permission by the Ministry of Education to offer international university programmes, it has been our objective to open the door to high quality and affordable foreign education,” said Professor Hew Gill, President and Provost at UCB. “We offer programmes under the academic direction of the London School of Economics, with world class educational content which will equip students with the skills that lead to careers as highly paid professionals.” Dr James Abdey, Associate Academic Director of UoL Programmes at LSE, said, “We are enthusiastic to support UCB in this innovative endeavour to enable HSC grads to study towards a University of London academic award right here in Dhaka.” Bangladeshis from all schools and curriculums now have the opportunity to get a world-class UK degree at home, added Professor Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs. HSC students can NOW directly join LSE-directed University of London degrees at UCB in Dhaka
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the exclusive partner of University of London, had an Open Day on August 26, 2023 with Dr James Abdey of the London School of Economics as guest of honour. Hundreds of talented and aspiring young students joined the event held at the UCB campus in Gulshan Avenue, to learn about the full three year UK degree programmes that will be available at UCB from September. The objective of the University of London Open Day event was to introduce students to the BSc degrees in Accounting & Finance, Business & Management, Economics, and Finance, now available at Universal College Bangladesh. All these degrees are under the academic direction of the London School of Economics and students will be able to complete all three years of the UK degrees at the UCB campus in Dhaka without travelling abroad. UCB is the first Ministry of Education-approved international education provider in Bangladesh and offers University of London higher education programmes to local students who have finished their O/AS/A/HSC levels.
