Monash University CMO Fabian Marrone and international marketing and recruitment director Jenny McHendrie have recently visited Universal College Bangladesh– the STS Group entity providing world-class education in Bangladesh through the onshore delivery of Monash College pathway courses Monash University Foundation Year and MCD in Business, IT and Engineering. The first international education provider in Bangladesh approved by education ministry, Monash College has a proud history of quality pathways and preparedness for entry into Monash University in years one or two. The visit to the UCB campus took place on May 28, 2023, where both groups exchanged ideas and discussed Monash’s pathway programs, high graduate employability rates, scholarship programs, and more, said a press release. Monash University is a top 50 University in the world and number two in Australia according to The Times Higher Education Rankings 2023. The university offers a comprehensive course offering across UG, PG and PhD with an emphasis on double degrees. During their visit, Fabian Marrone and Jenny McHendrie met with teachers and staff in the presence of Manas Singh, CEO of STS Group, and Amit Prasad, COO of UCB. ‘This highlights the dedication and commitment of UCB in creating better pathways for Bangladeshi students by putting initiatives in place to help students prepare for better job placements and brighter futures. This includes access to Monash Talent, a student job placement service offered by Monash College and available to all Monash College and Monash University students while they study and complete in Australia,’ the release read. Marrone and McHendrie also spent time touring the campus facilities and recognised UCB’s efforts in ensuring students receive world-class education through Monash College programs delivered at UCB in Bangladesh. By gaining valuable knowledge and skills through UCB programs and then transitioning through to Monash University, students will make an impact and leave their mark on the global stage. মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটির সিএমও ফ্যাবিয়ান মেরোন ও ইন্টারন্যাশনাল মার্কেটিং অ্যান্ড রিক্রুটমেন্ট ডিরেক্টর জেনি ম্যাকহেন্ড্রি সম্প্রতি ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশ (ইউসিবি) পরিদর্শন করেছেন। মোনাশ কলেজ পাথওয়ে’র কোর্স মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি ফাউন্ডেশন ইয়ার (এমইউএফওয়াই) এবং বিজনেস, আইটি ও ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিংয়ে ডিপ্লোমা প্রদান করার মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশে বিশ্বমানের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করছে এসটিএস গ্রুপের এই প্রতিষ্ঠান। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় কর্তৃক অনুমোদিত বাংলাদেশের প্রথম আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা প্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান ইউসিবি; পাশাপাশি মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ব্যাচেলর ডিগ্রির ১ম বা ২য় বর্ষে সরাসরি ভর্তির বিষয়ে মানসম্মত প্রস্তুতি নিশ্চিত করার ক্ষেত্রে মোনাশ কলেজের সমৃদ্ধ রেকর্ড রয়েছে। গত ২৮ মে ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাস পরিদর্শন করেন অতিথিরা। এ সময় দু’পক্ষই মোনাশ পাথওয়ে প্রোগ্রাম, গ্র্যাজুয়েটদের নিয়োগের হার এবং স্কলারশিপ প্রোগ্রামসহ আরও বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে তাদের মতামত তুলে ধরেন। মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটির অবস্থান বিশ্বের শীর্ষ ৫০টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে; এছাড়া দ্য টাইমস হায়ার এডুকেশন র্যাংকিং ২০২৩ অনুযায়ী অস্ট্রেলিয়ার দ্বিতীয় সেরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এটি। এতে ‘ডাবল ডিগ্রি’র ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করা ছাড়াও আন্ডারগ্র্যাজুয়েট, পোস্টগ্র্যাজুয়েট ও পিএইচডিসহ নানারকম কোর্স করার সুযোগ রয়েছে। পরিদর্শনের সময় ফ্যাবিয়ান মেরোন ও জেনি ম্যাকহেন্ড্রি এসটিএস গ্রুপের সিইও মানস সিং ও ইউসিবি’র সিওও অমিত প্রসাদসহ শিক্ষক ও কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন। এ সময় বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য সুগম পথ তৈরিতে ইউসিবির সদিচ্ছা ও প্রতিশ্রুতি নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়, যেখানে চাকরির নিশ্চয়তা ও উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যতের জন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রস্তুত করার ক্ষেত্রে উদ্যোগ নেয়ার বিষয়টি উঠে আসে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে মোনাশ কলেজের ‘স্টুডেন্ট জব প্লেসমেন্ট’ সেবা মোনাশ ট্যালেন্টে অংশ নেয়ার সুযোগ। মোনাশ কলেজ ও মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটির সব শিক্ষার্থী অস্ট্রেলিয়ায় পড়াশোনা করার সময় এই সুযোগটি গ্রহণ করতে পারবেন। মেরোন ও ম্যাকহেন্ড্রি ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাসের বিভিন্ন সুবিধা ঘুরে দেখেন এবং মোনাশ কলেজ প্রোগ্রাম প্রদান করার মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বিশ্বমানের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার ক্ষেত্রে ইউসিবি’র প্রচেষ্টাকে সাধুবাদ জানান। মোনাশ কলেজ ও ইউসিবির মধ্যকার অংশীদারিত্বের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করার সময় এই অংশীদারিত্বের মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীরা কীভাবে নতুন এক যুগে প্রবেশ করেছে তা তুলে ধরা হয়। ইউসিবি প্রোগ্রাম থেকে প্রয়োজনীয় জ্ঞান ও দক্ষতা অর্জন করে, পরবর্তীতে মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটিতে নিজেকে রূপান্তরের মধ্য দিয়ে বিশ্বমঞ্চে ইতিবাচক প্রভাব রাখতে সক্ষম হবেন শিক্ষার্থীরা। এ বিষয়ে এসটিএস গ্রুপের সিইও মানস সিং বলেন, ফ্যাবিয়ান মেরোন ও জেনি ম্যাকহেন্ড্রিকে আমাদের ক্যাম্পাসে পেয়ে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত। তারা ইউসিবি ও মোনাশের মূল বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে গভীরভাবে আলোচনা করেছেন। বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক মানের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের দু’পক্ষ একযোগে কাজ করবে, এই আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করছি। মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটির সিএমও ফ্যাবিয়ান মেরোন বলেন, ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাস পরিদর্শন ও ফলপ্রসূ আলোচনা করতে পেরে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত। মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটিতে আমাদের লক্ষ্য আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার্থীসহ সবার জন্য বিশ্বসেরা মানসম্মত শিক্ষা গ্রহণের সুযোগ তৈরি করা। বাংলাদেশসহ ১৫০টিরও বেশি দেশে আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা রয়েছেন। এতে করে ভবিষ্যতমুখী জ্ঞান ও দক্ষতায় তারা নিজেদের বিকশিত করার সুযোগ পাবে। পাশাপাশি একটি সমৃদ্ধ ভবিষ্যতের জন্য নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করতে পারবে। আমাদের ক্যাম্পাস, স্টেট ও দেশে আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষার উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রয়েছে। দুই দেশের মধ্যে বন্ধন তৈরিতেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা। বাংলাদেশে বিশ্বমানের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করা এবং আগামী দিনের নেতৃত্ব তৈরির ক্ষেত্রে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা রাখতে প্রতিশ্রুতি ইউসিবি। মোনাশ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তাদের ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাস পরিদর্শন এ বিষয়টিকেই প্রতিফলিত করে। Published in: Channel24bd
UCB’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class education
