The goal is to give Bangladeshi students the same education and qualifications as in the UK. The UK has changed its migration policies several times recently. Has this affected international partnerships or transnational education? With over 35 years of international experience, we’re used to policy changes. While rules may shift, our commitment remains steady—to provide high-quality education to students, whether they study in the UK or through partners like UCB. Our model also offers flexibility—students can start in Bangladesh and transfer later if they wish. Regardless of policy changes, we’re committed to supporting students fully. Monash University climbs 24 places in THE World Reputation Rankings 2025
Monash University has climbed 24 places to rank 63rd globally and third in Australia in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World Reputation Rankings 2025. The reputation rankings are calculated from responses to the world’s largest invitation-only opinion survey of senior, published academics. UCB introduces country’s first international cyber security bachelor’s degree
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB) has introduced a global bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, bringing world-class international education opportunities closer to Bangladeshi students. Through its collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in the UK, UCB is offering the country’s first-ever three-year degree in Cyber Security. The Cyber Security degree has been designed entirely by UCL an, ensuring a global standard of education for Bangladeshi students. Students can complete their whole degree in Dhaka or move to the UK to study for one or two years. The program features a team of distinguished lecturers who have been approved by UCLan and have studied at leading universities. The world-class faculty will ensure a robust academic foundation for UCB students by emphasising practical skills and incorporating labs, workshops, and real-world scenarios, equipping students for real-life professional challenges. Benefitting from UCLan’s collaboration with the Lancashire Cyber Partnership (LCP) and the National Cyber Force (NCF) of the UK, the UCB program will provide students with unique networking opportunities to gain a competitive edge in their careers. The graduates of the BSc in Cyber Security programme will be equipped to pursue diverse roles in various cyber sectors, including Cyber Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, Network Security Engineer, Digital Forensics Investigator, Information Security Consultant, and more. President and Provost of Universal College Bangladesh, Professor Hew Gill said, “Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand globally. Our latest UK degree programme will help Bangladeshi students gain world-class knowledge and secure high-paying jobs. Our students can work anywhere in the global IT sector with a UK Cyber Security degree.” Admission has already started for the first intake, and classes will start on 14 January 2025. Admission will continue until the end of January 2025. Students who have completed their HSC, A Levels, or equivalent are eligible for the Cyber Security degree. Universal College Bangladesh (UCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prime Bank PLC, creating new opportunities for UCB graduates to launch their professional careers. ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশ (ইউসিবি) এবং প্রাইম ব্যাংক পিএলসি’র মধ্যে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (এমওইউ) স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। যার ফলে ইউসিবি স্নাতকেরা নিজেদের ক্যারিয়ারের ভিত্তি আরও মজবুত করে তুলতে প্রাইম ব্যাংকের বিশেষ সহযোগিতা পাবেন। আজ ১০ ডিসেম্বর মঙ্গলবার ঢাকায় গুলশানে ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাসে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরের মাধ্যমে ইন্ডাস্ট্রি ও একাডেমিয়ার সমন্বিত উদ্যোগ নেয় ইউসিবি ও প্রাইম ব্যাংক। চুক্তির আওতায় ইউসিবি’র শিক্ষার্থীরা প্রাইম ব্যাংক পিএলসি’তে প্লেসমেন্ট ও ইন্টার্নশিপের সুবর্ণ সুযোগ পাবেন। এছাড়াও প্রাইম ব্যাংকের অধীনে বিভিন্ন ট্রেনিং সেশন, নলেজ-শেয়ারিং প্রোগ্রাম, গেস্ট লেকচার, ও মেন্টরশিপের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা নিজেদের পেশাগত দক্ষতা আরও শাণিত করে তুলতে পারবেন। প্রাইম ব্যাংক পিএলসি’র পক্ষ থেকে চুক্তিস্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ব্যাংকের ডেপুটি ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর নাজিম এ চৌধুরী; এবং ডিএমডি ও হেড অব এইচআরডি জিয়াউর রহমান। ইউসিবি’র পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এসটিএস গ্রুপের সিইও মানস সিং; সিওও কিংশুক গুপ্ত; এসটিএস ক্যাপিটাল লিমিটেডের সিএফও এস এম রাহমাতুল মুজিব, সিএফএ; হেড অব ফাইন্যান্স মুস্তাফা ওয়াকি চৌধুরী, সিএফএ; এবং অ্যাসিস্ট্যান্ট ম্যানেজার এস এম রিসালাত রহমান। চুক্তি প্রসঙ্গে এসটিএস গ্রুপ সিইও মানস সিং বলেন, ‘শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য দেশের মাটিতে বিশ্বমানের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিতের পাশাপাশি তাদের একাডেমিক শিক্ষাকে আরও কার্যকরী করে তোলার লক্ষ্যে পেশাদারি অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের সুযোগ তৈরি করছে ইউসিবি। এই উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে আরও দক্ষ ও বাজারমুখী জনসম্পদ তৈরি হবে বলে আমরা আশাবাদী।’ প্রাইম ব্যাংকের ডিএমডি নাজিম এ চৌধুরী বলেন, ‘ইন্ডাস্ট্রি ও একাডেমিয়া’র মেলবন্ধন সৃষ্টিতে ইউসিবি’র এই উদ্যোগ সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়। এর ফলে নিয়োগকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোও দক্ষ ও বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতাসম্পন্ন মেধাবীদের খুঁজে পাবে। আমরা ইউসিবি শিক্ষার্থীদের পেশাগত দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে তাদেরকে হাতে-কলমে শিক্ষা ও দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করতে অত্যন্ত আগ্রহী।’ বাংলাদেশের সম্ভাবনাময় শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি, ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লন্ডন (এলএসই), এবং ইউসিএলএন-এর মত বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন স্বনামধন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়ন ও ডিগ্রি অর্জনের পথ তৈরি করছে ইউসিবি। দেশের শীর্ষ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল এডুকেশন প্রোভাইডার প্রতিষ্ঠানটি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন একাডেমিক যোগ্যতার শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য যথাযথ একাডেমিক ও ক্যারিয়ার সুযোগ তৈরির লক্ষ্যে নানা ধরণের কর্মসূচিও আয়োজন করে থাকে। ইউসিবি সম্পর্কে আরও জানতে ভিজিট করুন https://ucbbd.org/.
