Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), the exclusive partner of Monash College, Australia in Bangladesh, has successfully concluded the orientation programmememe for its Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) January intake. Marking the commencement of the years first batch, the MUFY Orientation programmememe was held at the UCB Campus, located in the capitals SA Tower, Gulshan 1 on Sunday. The programmememe began with introductory speeches by Prof. Muhammad Ismail Hossain, dean of Academic Affairs, and Prof. Hew Gill, president and provost of UCB, reads a release. The event progressed with insightful speeches by Daniel Lum from International Recruitment and Development of Monash University Malaysia; and Azra Karim, In-country representative from Monash Australia addressing the august gathering of both students and parents. The speeches were followed by sessions targeted to familiarize students and guardians with UCB and the MUFY programmeme. Important details regarding studying Monash programmememes, important policies, etc. were shared including information about essential academic tools, creation and use of Monash and UCB accounts, and navigation of courses on Moodle. বৈশ্বিক শিক্ষায় বদলে যাওয়া বাংলাদেশ
একুশ শতকের পৃথিবীতে একটি জাতি যদি ভবিষ্যতে চোখ রেখে নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করতে চায়, তাহলে উন্নত মানবসম্পদের কোনো বিকল্প নেই। আজ আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা দিবসে এ কথা বলাই যায়, বাংলাদেশে যাঁরা শিক্ষা খাত নিয়ে কাজ করেন, এ দেশের বিপুল জনসংখ্যাকে সম্পদে রূপান্তর করাই হওয়া উচিত তাঁদের অগ্রাধিকার। তরুণদের বৈশ্বিক মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষাদানের মাধ্যমেই এই লক্ষ্য অর্জন সম্ভব। বাংলাদেশে ১৫ থেকে ২৯ বছর বয়সীদের সংখ্যা দেশের মোট জনসংখ্যার ২৮ শতাংশ। তাঁরাই তো দেশের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের প্রধান চালিকাশক্তি, তাঁদের মধ্যেই লুকিয়ে আছে অমিত সম্ভাবনা। এই তরুণদের কাজে লাগাতে হলে শিক্ষার মানের ক্ষেত্রে সারা বিশ্বের সঙ্গে তাল মেলানো খুব জরুরি। তাই শিক্ষায় বিনিয়োগ হতে হবে কৌশলগত। শুধু শিক্ষাগত দক্ষতা অর্জনে জোর দিলেই চলবে না, বরং প্রত্যেক শিক্ষার্থীর ব্যক্তিগত উন্নয়নের প্রতিও নজর দিতে হবে। প্রতিযোগিতামূলক আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে টিকে থাকতে হলে কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ ও দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের গুরুত্ব সবচেয়ে বেশি। প্রগতিশীল বাজারের চাহিদার সঙ্গে তাল মেলাতে হলে তাই তরুণদের শুধু একাডেমিক দক্ষতা থাকলেই হবে না, ব্যবহারিক দক্ষতাও অর্জন করতে হবে। এতে শুধু চাকরি পেতে সুবিধা হবে, তা নয়; বরং তাঁরা ভবিষ্যতের পৃথিবী গঠনে শিল্প ও প্রযুক্তি খাতে ভূমিকা রাখতে পারবেন। তরুণদের বৈশ্বিক মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে তৈরি করার সময় কিন্তু পেরিয়ে যাচ্ছে। বিচক্ষণতার সঙ্গে ভাবতে পারে, নির্ভয়ে নতুন কিছু তৈরি করে, আর ভবিষ্যতের চাহিদার কথা মাথায় রেখে পরিবর্তনের সঙ্গে খাপ খাওয়াতে পারে—এমন একটি প্রজন্ম গড়ে তোলা দরকার। এ কথা মানতেই হবে যে মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষার পেছনে বিনিয়োগ করা মানে দেশ ও সমাজের জন্য সুন্দর ভবিষ্যৎ নিশ্চিত করা। কেননা, বিশ্বমানের যোগ্যতা ও দক্ষতাসম্পন্ন তরুণেরাই দেশের অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক উন্নয়নে ভূমিকা রাখবেন। সুখবর হলো, বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষাদানের মতো প্রতিষ্ঠান এখন এ দেশে আছে। শিক্ষার্থীরা যেন আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে বিশ্বনাগরিক হিসেবে সফল পেশাজীবন গড়তে পারে, সে লক্ষ্যে ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশ (ইউসিবি) এগিয়ে এসেছে। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের অনুমোদনে দেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের সামনে বৈশ্বিক সুযোগ হাজির করছে এই শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান। মোনাশ কলেজ ও ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লন্ডনের সঙ্গে আমাদের বিশেষ পার্টনারশিপ আছে। ফলে মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি ফাউন্ডেশন ইয়ারের (এমইউএফওয়াই) মতো প্রোগ্রাম পরিচালনার পাশাপাশি লন্ডন স্কুল অব ইকোনমিকসের একাডেমিক দিকনির্দেশনার সুযোগও আমরা পাচ্ছি। বিশ্ব মানে পৌঁছানোর প্রয়োজনীয়তাকে অগ্রাধিকার না দেওয়ার কোনো সুযোগ নেই। কেননা, দেশে কিংবা দেশের বাইরে সবচেয়ে ভালো কাজ করতে গেলে সাংস্কৃতিক সচেতনতা ও বিশ্বমানের দক্ষতা—দুটিই জরুরি। আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা বৃত্তি, আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ের শীর্ষ শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর সঙ্গে অংশীদারত্ব এবং বিশ্ব মানের প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে ইউসিবিতে যে জ্ঞান অর্জন করেন, তা কোনো সীমানায় আবদ্ধ নয়। নানা ধরনের দক্ষতা অর্জন করেন বলেই বৈশ্বিক পর্যায়ে তাঁদের গ্রহণযোগ্যতা যথেষ্ট পরিমাণ বাড়ে। সেরা মানের শিক্ষা আমরা নিয়ে এসেছি ঢাকায়। ফলে শিক্ষার্থীরা দেশে পড়ালেখা করেই বৈশ্বিক পর্যায়ে পৌঁছে যেতে পারে। আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর তুলনায় ইউসিবির প্রোগ্রামগুলোতে টিউশন ফি কম। যেহেতু দেশেই শিক্ষার্থীরা পড়তে পারেন, তাই বিদেশে যাওয়া-আসা কিংবা থাকার খরচও প্রয়োজন হয় না। যাঁরা বিদেশে উচ্চশিক্ষা নিতে চান, তাঁদের পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতি, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আবেদন, ভিসা প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, আর্থিক সহায়তা এবং পরামর্শও দেয় ইউসিবি। Published in: Prothomalo

ইউসিবি-তে মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি ফাউন্ডেশন ইয়ারের ওরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রাম অনুষ্ঠিত
বাংলাদেশে মোনাশ কলেজ, অস্ট্রেলিয়ার একমাত্র অংশীদার ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশের (ইউসিবি)। রোববার (২১ জানুয়ারি) মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি ফাউন্ডেশন ইয়ারে (এমইউএফওয়াই) ভর্তি হওয়া শিক্ষার্থীদের ওরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রাম সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এমইউএফওয়াই’র এ বছরের প্রথম ব্যাচের জন্য রাজধানীর গুলশান ১ অ্যাভিনিউ এলাকার এসএ টাওয়ারে অবস্থিত ইউসিবি ক্যাম্পাসে এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। ইউসিবির ডিন অব অ্যাকাডেমিক অ্যাফেয়ার্স প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইসমাইল হোসেন এবং প্রেসিডেন্ট ও প্রভোস্ট অধ্যাপক হিউ গিলের স্বাগত বক্তব্য দিয়ে এই আয়োজন শুরু হয়। এরপর অনুষ্ঠানে সমবেত শিক্ষার্থী ও অভিভাবকদের সামনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বক্তব্য দেন মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি মালয়েশিয়ার ইন্টারন্যাশনাল রিক্রুটমেন্ট অ্যান্ড ডেভেলপমেন্টের ড্যানিয়েল লাম এবং মোনাশ অস্ট্রেলিয়ার ইন-কান্ট্রি রিপ্রেজেন্টেটিভ আজরা করিম। পরে ইউসিবি ও এমইউএফওয়াই প্রোগ্রামের সাথে শিক্ষার্থী ও অভিভাবকদের পরিচিত করিয়ে দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে সেশনের আয়োজন করা হয়। সেশনে মোনাশ প্রোগ্রামের পড়াশোনা, গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নীতিমালা, প্রয়োজনীয় অ্যাকাডেমিক টুল, মোনাশ ও ইউসিবি’র অ্যাকাউন্ট তৈরি ও ব্যবহার এবং এমওওডিএলই -এ (মডিউলার অবজেক্ট-অরিয়েন্টেড ডায়নামিক লার্নিং এনভায়রনমেন্ট) কোর্স পরিচালনা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত তথ্য উপস্থাপন করা হয়। শিক্ষাগত দক্ষতা, ভাষা দক্ষতা ও সংখ্যাগত (গাণিতিক) দক্ষতার ওপরও সেশন আয়োজিত হয়। উল্লেখ্য, এমইউএফওয়াই জানুয়ারি ২০২৪ -এ ভর্তি হওয়া শিক্ষার্থীদের ওরিয়েন্টেশন প্রোগ্রাম আয়োজিত হলেও, ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসের ২ তারিখ পর্যন্ত এমইউএফওয়াই -তে ভর্তির সুযোগ থাকছে। এ বিষয়ে ইউসিবির প্রেসিডেন্ট ও প্রভোস্ট অধ্যাপক হিউ গিল বলেন, “আমাদের নতুন শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের চমৎকার এ শিক্ষা যাত্রা শুরু করতে প্রস্তুত; আমি এখানে উপস্থিত আমাদের নতুন শিক্ষার্থীদের অভিনন্দন জানাচ্ছি। প্রত্যেকের আলাদা লক্ষ্যে পৌঁছানোর ক্ষেত্রে আমরা একযোগে কাজ করে যেতে চাই। এখানে আপনাদের সবাইকে স্বাগত জানাতে পেরে আমরা অত্যন্ত উচ্ছ্বসিত, একটি সমৃদ্ধ আগামীর জন্য আশাবাদী আমরা।” ইউনিভার্সাল কলেজ বাংলাদেশ (ইউসিবি) মোনাশ কলেজ, অস্ট্রেলিয়ার একমাত্র অংশীদার এবং দেশের প্রথম শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় অনুমোদিত আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষাপ্রদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান। শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের ও/এএস/এ/এইচএসসি পাশ করার পরপরই আন্তর্জাতিক প্রোগ্রামে ভর্তির মাধ্যমে মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি বা ইউনিভার্সিটি অব লন্ডন – এলএসইতে ডিগ্রি অর্জনে যাত্রা শুরু করতে পারবেন। এখানে শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য একইরকম গ্লোবাল অ্যাকাডেমিক কারিকুলাম ও সাশ্রয়ী টিউশন ফি গ্রহণের সুযোগ রয়েছে। এ প্রোগ্রাম ও কর্মশালা সম্পর্কে আরও বিস্তারিত জানতে ভিজিট করুন- http://UCBD.org/ Published in: Shomoyeralo
