Universal College Bangladesh, a STS Group institution, is set to host ‘UCB Admission Day’ in Chattogram on Saturday. The event, arranged at The Peninsula Chittagong, will host O/A level and HSC students seeking international education between 10:00am and 5:00pm to help them learn how to apply for Monash University and UoL-LSE programmememes right from Bangladesh and benefit from the exclusive offerings of UCB, said a press release. ডার্মট ম্যাকগ্রা, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি; জাস্টিন বার্নেল, মেডিসিন, নার্সিং এবং হেলথ সায়েন্স; গিয়েরমো লেগুইজামন, বিজ্ঞান; এবং প্যাট্রিক সু, ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা। তাদের সাথে ছিলেন ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্টুডেন্ট রিক্রুটমেন্ট (আইএসআর) দলের সহকর্মীবৃন্দ। মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটির দক্ষিণ এশিয়া এবং আফ্রিকার প্রধান আলফোনসা পাকিয়াম বলেন, “নিজ পছন্দের এবং আগ্রহের বিষয় নিয়ে সফল ক্যারিয়ার গড়ার সুযোগ পাওয়া প্রতিটি তরুণের অধিকার। শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বপ্ন এবং চাকুরি বাজারের কঠিন বাস্তবতার মাঝে প্রায়শই যে ব্যবধান রয়ে যায়, তা পূরণ করার লক্ষ্যে আমরা এই আয়োজনে যোগ দিয়েছি। মোনাশ ওপেন ডে’র আয়োজনে অংশ নেয়া অসংখ্য তরুণের অনুপ্রাণিত মুখ আজ আমাদেরকেও গভীর অনুপ্রেরণা দিয়েছে। বাংলাদেশে এমন চমৎকার আয়োজনগুলো অব্যাহত রাখার জন্য ইউসিবিকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ”। ইউসিবি’র প্রেসিডেন্ট ও প্রভোস্ট প্রফেসর ড. হিউ গিল বলেন, “আন্তর্জাতিক ইউনিভার্সিটি প্রোগ্রাম পরিচালনার জন্য বাংলাদেশে শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় অনুমোদিত প্রথম উচ্চশিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য হল দেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য মানসম্পন্ন ও ব্যয়সাশ্রয়ী উচ্চ শিক্ষার সুযোগ তৈরি করা। মোনাশের সাথে অংশীদারীত্বের মাধ্যমে ইউসিবি বাংলাদেশে মানবসম্পদের দক্ষতা বিকাশে কাজ করছে, যা দেশকে আগামী কয়েক বছরের মধ্যে একটি উচ্চ-মধ্যম আয়ের দেশ হতে সক্ষম করবে। আমাদের জাতীয় পাঠ্যক্রমের শিক্ষার্থী এবং আন্তর্জাতিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য প্রোগ্রাম রয়েছে, এবং আমরা প্রত্যেক শিক্ষার্থী এবং তাদের অভিভাবকদের জন্য ন্যায্য মূল্যে সর্বোচ্চ মানের শিক্ষাগত অভিজ্ঞতা নিশ্চিতের চেষ্টা করি। মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ভর্তির সহযোগী হিসেবে আমরা শিক্ষার্থীদের সম্ভাবনার পূর্ণ বিকাশ ঘটাই এবং তাদেরকে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সাফল্যের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে তুলি, যার মাধ্যমে তারা পরবর্তীতে দক্ষ এবং আর্থিকভাবে স্বচ্ছল পেশাদার হিসেবে ক্যারিয়ার গড়তে সক্ষম হয়। আশা করছি, মোনাশ ওপেন ডে’র আয়োজনটি আরও তরুণ বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের ঢাকায় অবস্থিত ইউসিবি’র মাধ্যমে মোনাশের পথে যাত্রায় অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে”। অনুষ্ঠানে শিক্ষার্থী ও তাদের অভিভাবকরা মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি মালয়েশিয়ার অভিজ্ঞ অনুষদ সদস্যদের সাথে দেখা করার এবং মোনাশ প্রোগ্রামে অধ্যয়নের ব্যপারে বিভিন্ন প্রশ্নের উত্তর জানার সুযোগ লাভ করেন। অনুষদ সদস্যরা শিক্ষার্থীদের সেরা উচ্চশিক্ষার সুযোগ সম্পর্কে অভিজ্ঞ পরামর্শ দেন, বিভিন্ন এডুকেশন পাথওয়ে সম্পর্কে ধারণা প্রদান করেন এবং ইউসিবি’তে মোনাশ প্রোগ্রামের অধীনে বিভিন্ন ডিগ্রি নেয়ার সুযোগ সম্পর্কে অবহিত করেন। পাশাপাশি, অনুষদ সদস্যরা ভবিষ্যৎ ক্যারিয়ার সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিভিন্ন প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেন, যা অনুষ্ঠানটিকে শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য তথ্যপূর্ণ ও তাদের শিক্ষার প্রতিটি ধাপে সহায়ক করে তোলে। দর্শনার্থী শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য মোনাশ ওপেন ডে ইউসিবি’র অত্যাধুনিক ক্যাম্পাস ঘুরে দেখার এবং অস্ট্রেলিয়ার কোর্সগুলো কীভাবে রূপান্তরমূলক দক্ষতা অর্জনে সহায়ক ভূমিকা পালন করে তা সম্পর্কে ধারণা পেতে মোনাশ প্রোগ্রামের শিক্ষার্থীদের সাথে কথা বলার সুযোগ করে দেয়। এর পাশাপাশি, ইউসিবি এর সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠান এডুকো পাথওয়ের জন্য একটি ইনফরমেশন ডেস্কেরও ব্যবস্থা করে, যেনো অংশগ্রহণকারীরা গুলশান ক্যাম্পাস থেকে মেলবোর্ন অথবা মালয়েশিয়ায় কীভাবে পড়তে যাবেন, সে সম্পর্কে জানতে পারেন। অনুষ্ঠানে ডিন অব অ্যাকাডেমিক অ্যাফেয়ার্স অধ্যাপক ড. ইসমাইল হোসেন বলেন, “ইউসিবি’তে শিক্ষার্থীরা এমইউএফওয়াই ও এমসিডি’র মতো মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি পাথওয়ে প্রোগ্রামগুলোতে অধ্যয়নের এবং মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটি মালয়েশিয়া বা মেলবোর্নে তাদের ডিগ্রি অর্জনের পূর্বে দেশে বসেই আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা শুরু করার অনন্য সুযোগ প্রদান করে। আমি আমার ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রি অর্জনের জন্য মোনাশ ইউনিভার্সিটিকে বেছে নিয়েছি এবং আমি বিশ্বমানসম্পন্ন ডিগ্রি অর্জনের এই সুবর্ণ সুযোগ যতো বেশি সংখ্যক বাংলাদেশি তরুণদের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দিতে চাই”। Published in: Sebahotnews

Our students at Universal College Bangladesh have taken the initiative to promote a cleaner and greener environment by participating in the Waste-Bin Poster Making competition. The competition aimed to encourage students to use the waste bins on campus and our students’ posters were a testament to their creativity and dedication to the cause. Prof Hew Gill invited to judge Dhaka College Science Fair Entries
Prof Hew Gill, President & Provost of Universal College Bangladesh, has been invited to attend the Dhaka College Science Fair as a judge and speaker on 27th November 2023. Prof Hew will be the chief judge for the international “Scientific Idea Presentation” segment of the Science Fair. Prof Hew will also be giving a presentation entitled, “Can you trust your brain ?” in which he will show that your brain and memory can play tricks on you. The invitation to the Science Fair was from Prof Sharifa Sultana the Convener of Dhaka College Science Club, and was presented to Prof Hew by Muhammed Abrar Zawad, Vice President and Abdullah Al Seam, Associate (pictured). The Universal College Bangladesh Science Club will also be attending the event with their convener Dr Sadia Afreen.
